LSV's Aquatic Industry Services Manager - Alek Olszewski said the teams worked together to overcome various scenarios that tested their teamwork, communication and lifeguarding skills and knowledge.
"All competing teams put on outstanding performances to compete for the top 3 positions," said Alek.
The teams were challenged in a variety of simulated scenarios, such as managing major incidents, a theory assessment, as well as race events in the pool including rescue tows, line throws and manikin relays.

“The scenarios they faced were difficult, but realistic, and could easily occur at the participants’ own facilities. A variety of twists and complications were also introduced into the scenarios to make the situations even more challenging," said Mr Olszewski.
Top three results:
– Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre (GESAC)
– Western Leisure Services (WLS)
– Splashdown Leisure Centre - City of Greater Geelong
LSV acknowledges the support of Glen Eira Council for providing the event venue and support staff; as well as the LSV staff and volunteers who contributed to the delivery of this successful event.
The LSV Pool Lifeguard Challenge will return in 2023.
