Swimming & Lifesaving, first published under its current title in 1982, has a deep-rooted history. The first entirely Australian edition was published in 1957, but before that, Australia used UK editions and produced its own version of the manual using UK content. Over the decades, the content has been continually updated to reflect improved techniques and broaden information while maintaining the same vital goal—to educate and train the public in lifesaving skills and knowledge.
