NAIDOC week kicks off today across Australia, to celebrate and recognise the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

It’s an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and join in celebrating the oldest continuous living cultures on Earth.

At Royal Life Saving Australia we celebrate the resilience, survival, wisdom, and deep connection to water and land that continues in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and communities. We note the long-term lifesaving skills of coastal and freshwater nations.
