26% of drowning deaths while boating or using a watercraft involve alcohol. Avoid alcohol around water.

Just make sure they fit properly and make sure you get the right sized jackets for children. Royal Life Saving Research shows that, of the people who drowned when boating, over 90% were not wearing a lifejacket.
