Royal Life Saving is looking for a motivated and talented individual to join the organisation’s innovative Research and Policy team.
This position provides an exciting opportunity to drive meaningful change through research, policy and a culture of evidence-based advocacy. We are looking for someone with quantitative and qualitative research skills and experience to lead and conduct a range of key drowning prevention research
projects that are aligned to the Australian Water Safety Strategy .
We are seeking someone with strong experience in epidemiology and data analysis, and translating data insights to inform policy, advocacy and programs, and has the ability to lead one or many of our key research themes.
You will be part of an innovative and motivated research team that supports Royal Life Saving’s broad range of drowning prevention advocacy, programs and services. Research topics can span from: exploring the burden of fatal and non-fatal drowning on key populations, locations and activities, the impacts of swimming on social, health and economic outcome; to water safety policy and planning; to proposing, testing and monitoring programs targeting at-risk communities; and/or to environmental factors.
Applicants should have a Postgraduate level qualification and experience in a public health, research, policy or health promotion related discipline.

This is a full-time or part-time, permanent position, with the ability to work flexibly / remotely by negotiation for the right candidate.

Our focus is inland water safety, the aquatic industry and broader community life saving education and policy across Australia.
