We Swim: A New Campaign for Aquatic and Swim School Industry - Briefing Event Invitation
The past two years have been challenging.
Thousands of pools closed their doors, millions of lessons have been missed and some children may never return, joining the existing children who dropped out of swimming and water safety lessons too early. This threatens to have tragic consequences across the coming summer and beyond.
Already almost half of the children leaving primary school can’t swim continuously for 50 metres or float for 2 minutes in deep water – a basic national swimming and water safety benchmark.
While we know we need a medium to long-term strategy to close these gaps, in the short term, we need to advocate more broadly to the community the importance of getting back to swimming, swim lessons and aquatics.
We are inviting all interested aquatic partners to attend a webinar briefing on the issues, the campaign and how you can get involved.
This is an opportunity to work together to share our collective love of swimming for all its benefits, focus attention on why we swim, and encourage families back to lessons, especially those most at-risk of missing out on a lifelong love of swimming.
Join us to learn a bit about this new campaign and how you can get involved.
Featuring:
- Research and data from Royal Life Saving
