LIFEGUARD CHALLENGES
Lifeguard Challenges provide pool lifeguards and aquatic staff with an opportunity to practice essential lifesaving skills in a fun, challenging and team-based format.
Training towards and participating in Lifeguard Challenges encourages pool lifeguards and aquatic staff to be rescue-ready year round through physical conditioning and regular skill practice including rescue techniques, emergency response, communication and teamwork. Competitors participate as mixed teams from their aquatic facility, and competitions are judged by Royal Life Saving examiners and officials. Winning teams are awarded based on their overall performance across all skill areas (initiative, theory and technical ability) - participants don't need to be the fastest or strongest swimmer to compete!
